Tax Liens - 2009/02/07 02:33 Hi,
I am trying to buy a first home in N.CA recently divorced single income, can't afford to blow it. With the market like it is I thought this is my chance. I've been looking at foreclosures but there seems to be so much to watch out for and you really need to investigate properties. I was told that in a tax lien auction you get the property free and clear of any previous morgages or mechanics liens. Is this true? Do I just go and bid and if My bid is accepted that's what I get the home for? It doesn't sound right.

Re:Tax Liens - 2009/02/09 15:42 Hi,

Tax lien investing usually is simply to accrue interest on an investment. It is much more difficult to invest in tax deed property that is of a quality where you would want to live in, and there is some risk. I would stick to foreclosures where the investment is a little more straightforward.
