upraisals - 2007/08/10 23:28 Hello Luanne,

I was wondering how accurate and reliable the upraisals are for properties in so many counties?

I assume it would be very important to know the current market value at the auction, especially if visiting the property may not be possible due to respecting the owner's privacy etc.

thanx

Re:upraisals - 2007/08/13 15:42 Hi PH,

Thanks for your post. Yes, appraisals are an important factor in the tax sale investing industry, especially if you are looking to own the property. We have some tools available on the site.

On the property details page there is an AVM (automated valuation model) report available. This will give you a good idea of the value. However, unless someone actually visits the property there is no way to assess any internal or structural damage. This would require an actual appraiser and would be a wise option for a foreclosure property.

Thanks,

Luanne
